What this is
In late 2026 a cluster of posts on X treated ranking notes like weather: original content over quote-slop, dwell time over outbound clicks, penalties for engagement bait.
Needle is a local checklist built from those public claims. It is not X. It will not predict impressions. It will tell you whether a draft is doing the obvious things those writeups keep repeating.
Hook
The first line has to survive truncation. Soft openers waste the only line the feed guarantees.
Prefer a dated fact, a number, a scene, or a confession.
Substance
First-party language is the cheapest originality signal.
A number you would defend in a meeting beats three adjectives.
Distribution
Links pull people off the surface the ranker is measuring. Put the URL in a reply.
Threads should be paced: one claim per post.
Risk
Like if you agree, stacked fire emoji, and survey-style question piles are the easy negatives.
If you need to instruct the reader how to engage, the draft is unfinished.
